Warminster is the closest town to Longleat. However, it is also a lovely place to stay in its own right. In Warminster, you will find a park with a lake, a nature reserve and a number of historic attractions.
Is Longleat House worth visiting?
Yes a lot of the house is closed off – but it is still lived in. We took the nieces and nephew around with us (they asked to go round it!) and they loved it – one niece said it was the best part of the day! You also get a real feel for how upstairs and downstairs were different with the cosy servants quarters.

Fabulous activities, plenty to see and fill your time, shop and food costs are very reasonable and the staff are lovely, nothing is a bother and they are so helpful! Highly recommend this as a day out, couldn’t ask for better. Lovely place to visit, but quite pricey. The safari is as good as always, now with cheetahs.
