What is reflective ink?
Basically, reflective inks are made up of a carrier base and small reflective glass beads. Since the base is thin, the beads will settle if not stirred before printing. The reflectivity in the ink comes from the reflective beads or particles, not the base.
Can you print with reflective ink?
One of the first things that needs to be addressed when printing with reflective inks is which mesh count to use. This determines the type of design, or detail, that can be printed. With the reflective ink that we manufacture here at International Coatings, we recommend a mesh starting at around the 140 tpi range.

What does reflective print mean?
Reflective screen printing is a versatile printing technique, meaning that it works well on nearly all garment types, with the exception of garments which feature long fibres. This is a great option for hi-vis workwear that requires letting or a design to be seen at night when a light is shone on it.

What makes a material reflective?
Things reflect because of a combination of things, including their refractive index, how smooth the surface is, and finally, in the case of metals, and mirrors, because there are electrons in the material that are free.

What is reflective vinyl?
Reflective vinyl works by bouncing light back to the original source. In daylight, the colors look like normal vinyl decals.
