What does NSPCC help with?
We provide therapeutic services to help children move on from abuse, as well as supporting parents and families in caring for their children. We help professionals make the best decisions for children and young people, and support communities to help prevent abuse from happening in the first place.

What happens when you report someone to the NSPCC?
The helpline team will make a report and share information with social services. They might also contact local police if the child is in immediate danger. If the helpline don’t need to make a referral, they’ll give you advice on what you can do or information on local services.

Can the NSPCC remove a child?
If the child is 13-17, they will need to prove their age themselves using Yoti. You can support a young person to use Report Remove. Things like helping them find some ID and going through the process together can be really reassuring.

Reporting a concern The sooner you contact your local children’s social care duty team, the quicker they can act. They’re available 24 hours a day, and can make an anonymous report if that feels safer.

Can I kick my 17 year old out of the house UK?
Can 16-18 year olds move out? Once a young person reaches 16 they can leave home or their parents can ask them to move out. However, parents are responsible for their children’s wellbeing until they turn 18 – and they’ll likely need support (anchor link).
